Transfer containers and plans
You can hand tracking to another PixelFly account: for example, an agency handing a finished setup to its client, or merging two accounts into one. You can transfer a container (with the rest of its website) or a whole plan with its paid time.
The other person needs a PixelFly account (signing up is free), and only the account's owner can send a transfer, not a team member. Nothing moves until they accept.
Quick answers
| Container transfer | Plan transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| What moves | The container and every other container of the same website, with their settings, receivers and custom domains | The plan, its paid time, its limits, this month's event count and all its containers |
| Where it lands | One of their plans with room, which they choose | Their plan, or an extra plan next to theirs |
| What you keep | Your plan, and the events these containers already counted on it | Your invoices. Your account goes back to the Free plan, or that plan closes if it was an extra one |
| Where to start | The container's page: Transfer to another account | My Subscription, the plan: More → Transfer this plan |
Transfer a container
- Open the container and click Transfer to another account.
- Enter the email of their PixelFly account, and a note if you like, then click Send transfer.
- They get an email, open the request, pick which of their plans it joins and click Accept.
A website lives in one plan, so every container of the same website moves together. They keep their API key, receivers (including their access tokens), custom domains and sGTM server, so the website keeps tracking without anyone changing anything on it. From then on they count on the receiver's plan and get that plan's limits and features; the events they already counted stay on yours.
The receiving plan needs room: enough containers, websites and sGTM servers, enough receivers per container, and events left this month. A website that is on a Free plan in another account can't join a Free plan. If none of their plans fits, you'll see why when you send it, and they can upgrade or make room first.
Transfer a whole plan
- Open My Subscription (with several plans, click Manage on the one to move).
- Click More → Transfer this plan, enter their email and click Send transfer.
- They accept from the email.
They get the plan exactly as it is: the same end date and limits, all its containers, and this month's event count, so it carries on where it was. They renew it themselves when it ends. Your past payments and invoices stay with you. If it was your account's main plan, your account goes back to the Free plan; if it was an extra plan, it closes.
A plan can move when:
- it's a paid plan that hasn't ended. A Free plan stays with its account; transfer its containers instead.
- nothing still bills for it. If it renews by card, cancel the card subscription first (the card is yours and can't move); its paid days still go with the plan.
- no payment for it is waiting for approval, and no invoice for it is unpaid.
If the receiving account is new or empty (no running paid plan and no containers), the plan becomes their account's plan. Otherwise it arrives as an extra plan next to theirs, and their own plans stay as they are.
Receiving a transfer
You'll get an email, and a notice on My Subscription. Click Review to see who is sending what, choose the plan a container joins, and click Accept or Decline. Log in as the account it was sent to, outside any team workspace. A request expires after 7 days; the sender can send it again.
Changing your mind
Until it's accepted, the container or plan shows Transfer waiting for …. Click it to cancel; nothing moves. While a transfer is waiting you can't send another one for the same website or plan, or close that plan.
Agencies and client accounts
A transfer to one of your own client accounts (the ones you created under Sub Accounts) happens straight away, without waiting for acceptance; the client gets an email saying what arrived. Any other account accepts it first. You can send up to 10 requests to other accounts in 24 hours; transfers to your own client accounts don't count.
Handing over access tokens
Receivers move with their access tokens (Meta, GA4, TikTok and others), so the new owner can use them. If those tokens belong to your own business accounts, replace them with the client's after the transfer. You and your team no longer see the containers once they move.
